Series DescriptionEphemera from the Collection of Walter Jona includes but is not limited to various one-off and unique documents produced in relation to various events during Walter Jona's political career, air force service, and personal life. Included are various political promotional material and 'how to vote' cards produced in the lead up to various state elections, menu's for parliamentary Christmas and commemorative dinners/luncheons, and seating placards for various parliamentary events. Also included are various items related to Jona's prominence in the Jewish community such as a booklet produced by Temple Beth Isael, and various cruise pamphlets collected from a number of family holidays. There a number of notable items in this series, including a ration voucher issued to Jona for civilian clothes upon his discharge from the Royal Australian Air Force circa 1946, a napkin from the now-closed Treble Clef Restaurant in Melbourne which has been signed by various attendees and dated to the 1970 State Election, an invite to a memorial event for King George the VI, and a document which appears to be Jona's application or Curriculum Vitae for preselection candidacy for the seat of Hawthorne.
