Series DescriptionThis series comprises correspondence and related papers relating to the investigations of Nazi war criminals. Includes material relating to the entry of suspected war criminals into Australia, specifically Lyenko Urbanchich and Ernst Zundel. Records include meetings with various organisations such as the Croatian Representatives on War Criminals Issue; UN reports and government of Australia; inquiries conducted by the Office of Special Investigations in the USA and the Deschenes Commission in Canada into suspected or alleged war criminals; Andrew Menzies report under the auspices of the Special Ministry for State; the Jewish Community's progress and the reaction of the media and "Captive Nations" groups. Includes the Submission to the Review of Material relating to the ABC Radio Talks, Entry of Suspected War Criminals into Australia; various reports such as the Government Response to the Menzies' Report -Statement by the Honourable Lionel Bowen MP Deputy Prime Minister and Attorney-General; ADL Special Reports from USA such as the Campaign Against the US Justice Department's Prosecution of Suspected Nazi War Criminals; letters to the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisation, the Romanian Australian Cultural Society, the Council of the Latvian Officers' Association; Transcripts such as the Commonwealth Parliamentary Transcript "Has Australia been used as a Dumping Ground for Nazi Criminals"; newspaper articles; submissions and recommendations to the Commission of Inquiry on War Criminals of the Veterans of the Ukrainian Army
