Series DescriptionPress Correspondences and Media Releases where the client is the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies on matters affecting the status, welfare and interests of the NSW Jewish Community including but not limited to correspondence to the editors of TV, radio programmes and newspapers; radio releases, statements, overseas telexes; transcripts of interviews from radio/TV; transcripts from Parliament of the Commonwealth; excerpts of press interviews; international addresses in the media; some press released reports; press releases & background material from the Consulate General of Israel and various media releases such as from the Anti-Defamation League, Israeli Press highlights; summary of editorials from the Hebrew Press etc. Includes media transcripts of interviews of Board members on radio/TV etc. Subjects include but not limited to transcripts of the Memorial Service for Yitzhak Rabin; launch of website; transcripts of interviews with Revisionist, David Irving; releases of court documents; Arabic translations of press; Jewish-Chinese Communal Consultative Group; communities such as Maltese, Turkish, Cypriot and Parliamentarians and religious leaders; walkathon for Ethiopian Jewry; Kurt Waldheim; war crimes; Vanessa Redgrave's Tour of Australia; Sydney Monument to Murdered Olympians at Munich; One Nation Party; Walk against Terror; transcripts from TV and radio on varied subjects such as Noam Chomsky's book the "Fateful Triangle"; Queen's visit to Japan; racism; antisemitism on radio stations; terrorism; Israel- Arab relations; Iraq-Australia relations; Gulf War; war criminals; neo-Nazism and press releases etc. Includes reports of the Independent Complaints Review Panel on radio stations such as Triple J; background papers from overseas newspapers and information briefs etc. Some items are cross referenced to its appropriate item x File in the /059 series. It was decided that the transcripts of media interviews had a greater research and historical value, as these might no longer be available and they were regularly provided to the Jewish Board of Deputies, who was the client of these media transcripts. Includes one cassette of the interview of Vanessa Redgrave during her Tour of Australia of her documentary Occupied Palestine at the National Press Club
