Diaries of the NSW JBoD

Series

Series DescriptionThe Diaries of the New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies (NSW JBoD) are a yearly publication entailing a Hebrew-English Diary and resource-directory. From 1979 until 1998 (inclusive), the diaries were in a small format with plain, coloured, and titled cover-pages. In 1999, the diaries increased in size and included a Star of David on the cover. All diaries are spiral bound, with the 1989 and 1990 edition encased in a faux-leather cover branded with the NSW JBoD logo and phone number. In the earlier editions, the Diaries included a message from the President, details of the Executive, information regarding Jewish festivals, fasts and events, and Jewish community resources such as Women's, Youth, and other community organizations. Later editions of the diary expanded the community resources to also include advertisements of products and services. These later editions became an extensive community resource, with the 2000 edition including in its contents: Community/Welfare, Culture, Libraries, Media, Museums, Professional, Religious, Schools/Colleges/Pre-Schools, Senior Citizens, Sport, Synagogues/Temples, Women, and Youth. The 1991, 1995, 1996, and 1998 editions are missing, together with 2004-Current.
