Series DescriptionThis series comprises invitations cards and letters from individuals and organisations for the President of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies to attend various functions, conferences, luncheons, book launches; concerts and receptions. The invitations retained are those which were most probably accepted and those concerning significant annotations. Invitations include but not limited to community organisations such as the Chinese Community Association and the Croatian Clubs of NSW & ACT; government departments such as the Ethnic Commission local councils such as South Sydney and from mayors; Parliamentarians such as the Honorary Bob Car, Counsel Generals to functions, receptions; lectures such as AUSTCARE Refugee Week; Youth Leadership Conference; Australia-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group; annual general meetings such as Moriah College; multicultural festivals etc. Note: the invitations in /074.4 were taped down in plastic sleeves; where possible and without tearing the cards, the tape was removed. However, residue from the tape is present due to the type of tape and age of the cards. Overall, the cards are in good condition. The invitation cards have been rehoused in appropriate archival Mylar sleeves and envelopes.
