Item DescriptionThis file includes some research on Mooringa. Correspondence relating to researching the information and the map or pictures of Mooringa from Cowra Historical Society. Discussion regarding the planned exhibition in Melbourne, held by American Joint Distribution Committee. Survey on German Jewry to organise information with a report written by Marcelle Marks in 1982 regarding how they obtained different kinds of help from the various organisations, with two updated versions of the report. A story from Harry Cromer, who came to Australia with his wife in December 1938, became a pioneering farming family and assisted relatives escaping Nazi Germany. A newspaper cutting about Cowra settlement and Refugee Regulations. An article Jewish Settlers Return written by Graham Apthorpe, who was the Economic Development Manager of Cowra Shire Council, shows the story of two original settlers Margit Scouller and Harry Cromer. With some research and information of Harry Cromer. A black and white photograph of Cowra Settlement members and where they were settled in a Refugee Farm called Mutual Farms. Some black and white photographs of their farm life and the buildings on the farm. A journal article introducing the early history of Cowra. A postcard of a Japanese Garden in Cowra. A copy of the booklet about the greatest mass escape of prisoners of war in British military history. A district visitor's guide to Cowra, with the map and some recommended food, travel routes etc.
