Majdanek - The Concentration Camp in Lublin

DescriptionMajdanek, the local name for the area occupied by the concentration camp in Lublin and unknown before the camp's foundation, was coined by the Lublin inhabitants in 1941 and derived from the neighbouring district of the town called Majdan Tatarski. The name rapidly spread amongst prisoners, becoming a synonym for the martyrdom and heroism of the victims of the Nazi regime.
