Authority Biography/Administrative HistorySam Karpin was involved in many organisations, but he is best known for his role in the Y.M.H.A. and as a founder and mainstay of the Wolper Jewish Hospital, Sydney. His papers between  1945-1983 provide a profile of the Wolper's activities and include material from its inception to the early 1980s and includes:

His papers provide a profile of the Wolper's activities and include material from its inception to the early 1980s. This collection contains letters of correspondence to and from Wolper Jewish Hospital,  Sam Karpin, Solicitors, Architects and Town Planners. There are legal documents such as letters, statements, survey plans and blueprints and  certificates that pertain to a legal case about an appeal against the Council of the Municipality of Woollahra's rejection to extend Wolper Jewish Hospital. Also present is Wolper Jewish Hospital's financial information, annual reports, staff information and procedures,  minutes of meetings and  information brochures and advertisements. Furthermore, there are newspaper clippings that contain articles that report on Sam Karpin and Wolper Jewish Hospital as well as minutes of meetings from the Young Men and Women's Hebrew Association and other organizations. Additionally, there also black and white photographs of individuals, plaques and the hospital itself and its surroundings. Lastly, there are documents ranging from letters, plans,  blueprints, surveys and legal documents that  pertain to proposed plans for additions and alterations to the hospital
