His highly readable biography of Yorta Yorta activist William Cooper makes absorbing reading, but what centrally concerns us here is the light it sheds on the now legendary march from Footscray to the German consulate in central Melbourne that Cooper, secretary of the Australian Aborigines' League, is said to have led on 6 December 1938 to protest Kristallnacht.
