Author(s) Hilary Rubinstein AbstractThe so-called 'Spanish Flu' pandemic of 1918-19, with its associated complications such as pneumonia and bacterial infections, took the lives of 15,000 Australians, mainly adults in the lower age groups, out of a population of five million. This article examines the pandemic's impact on the Jews of Australia, then numbering about 11,000 persons.
