Margaret Taft AbstractWalter Lippman was one of the fortunate German Jews who managed to get papers to emigrate to Australia through family influence. He arrived in Australia in January 1939. This article focuses on a seminal period in Walter Lippman's communal life from the time he became president of Jewish Welfare in 1960 until the mid-1970s. It will examine key developments in his career and his impact on the communities he served.
