Author(s) David Gutnick AbstractRev Jacob Lenzer came from Russia to East Melbourne Synagogue in1888 as a result of an advert in the Hebrew paper. He was much loved by his congregation who presented him with a piano on his 25th anniversary. Rabbi Gutnick, the present Chief Minister of East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation, purchased the piano after seeing it advertised on 'Gumtree' for $100.00 and it is once again in the East Melbourne synagogue.
