Author(s) Ann Gluckman AbstractBorn in 1887 in Brody, Galicia, Alec Klippel tells the story of his family life there, leaving at age 14 to migrate to England. His travels within England and the European states are recounted. Later on he boards ship for Australia, and also spends time making his way in New Zealand. Klippel recounts the vicissitudes of his migrations doing several kinds of jobs to keep himself. He finds some success selling sheet music but success is often evanescent. He tells his own story which is edited by his niece Ann Gluckman .
