AbstractIsaacson was born Caroline Jacobson in Vienna in 1900, to a French mother and Dutch father. Her Prussian grandfather Sir Raphael Tuck was the founder of the British picture postcard industry. Isaacson emigrated to Australia. She was a linguist and a writer for the "Age", "Vogue" and other publications.
