Author(s) Louise Rosenberg AbstractGwen Green (nee Loewenthal) was born into one of the oldest Jewish families in Australia in 1900, descending from Phoebe Isaacs and Elias Cohen. She married Judah Green in Sydney and they moved to Leeton, NSW; this article gives an account of her pioneering work within the community there during the Depression and her activities with the NSW Country Women's Association.
