Author(s) Robert Sheezel AbstractMendel Cohen was born in Kovel, Poland in 1838, and arrived in Port Phillip in 1859. He became a jeweller, furniture dealer and broker, and was a well-known member of the East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation, holding various positions. He married Hannah Solomons and died in 1909.
