Author W D Rubinstein AbstractBook Review: Herzl's Der Judenstaat, first published in 1896, was the foundation text of the modern Zionist movement. Rather amazingly, no modern comprehensive English translation of that book was available until now, the only complete text in English being Dover Books' 1989 reprint of an edition originally translated in 1896 and reprinted in 1946. This has now been rectified by Dr Henk Overberg, who has provided a clear, contemporary translation with helpful and interesting commentary
