Author(s) W D Rubinstein AbstractBook Review: Identity and Involvement is a collection of thirty-six short pieces on aspects of Auckland Jewry from its foundations in 1840 to the present, grouped under six main headings: 'Auckland Jewry' - community and institutional histories -'Auckland Rabbis', 'Family Histories', 'Individuals', 'Verse', and 'Wider Perspectives'. The contributions are indeed wide-ranging and valuable, and present encouraging evidence of the revival of New Zealand's smallest and most remote of English-speaking Jewish communities.
