Author(s) Philip Mendes AbstractIn August 1951, reports were received of the persecution of Hungarian and Roumanian Jewry. (Noticeably, attacks on 'the collaboration of the Jewish bourgeoisie with Hitler' appeared in the Roumanian Communist press at this time142 that appear almost identical to the Zionist/Nazi collaboration myth propagated a generation later by Vanessa Redgrave and others). The Jewish Board of Deputies passed a resolution moved by the Kadimah delegates that condemned these events. The only two dissenters were the delegates of the Jewish Council, Mt Rothfield and Mr Goldbloom.
