Author(s) W D Rubinstein AbstractRubinstein reassess the historical consensus on Australia's failure to act immediately before and during the Holocaust, in not taking enough refugees. Rubinstein argues this was not because of anti-Semitism as much as Zionist opposition to emigration to Australia, and a lack of awareness as to the real situation in Europe on the part of Anglo Australians and Anglo-Jewish Australians alike.
