Author(s) Dorothea Litthauer AbstractThis article looks at the post-war immigration that brought many Jews to Maroubra in the late 1940s, and at the efforts of one of these immigrants, Dr Siegfried Cohn. A Jewish communal life in Maroubra soon sprang up, services being held at the home of a Mr. L. Stoliar. In the 1950s a synagogue was built and Rabbi Alexander Grozinger became the first permanent Chief Minister of the Kingsford Maroubra Hebrew Congregation.
