Author(s) David Marsden AbstractJewish families lived in Bankstown from its early settlement, and began to move here more after the establishment of railway transport in the area. The first Bankstown synagogue began to be built in 1913, though services had been held since 1911, and was replaced by a newer, bigger synagogue in the 1950s.
