AbstractA brief biography of Rabbi Dr. Joseph Abrahams, Chief Minister of the Melbourne Hebrew Congregation from 1883 to 1919. Abrahams was born in 1855 in London, and after a distinguished education there was handpicked by the Melbourne Hebrew Congregation and travelled to Australia in 1883. He had a distinguished career and died in 1938 in Melbourne.
