Author(s) Mary Lazarus AbstractZox was born to a Liverpool cap manufacturer and a former governess for the Rothschild family in 1837, and his family emigrated to Australia when he was 16. Zox, who lived in East Melbourne, was elected to Parliament in the 1860s on a free trade platform. After a distuinguished political career he died in 1899.
