Author(s) George F. J. Bergman AbstractThis article looks at the life of Mocatta, the brother-in-law of J. B. Montefiore who arrived with the latter in Sydney in 1829. Mocatta was born in England in 1815, and on arriving in Australia became a squatter and ended up with large agricultural interests. He died in Sydney in 1893.
