Author(s) AbstractThe anonymous author lived at New Town, near Hobart Town, in Van Diemen's Land and there is every indication that L.L. was Jewish. Intensive research reveals that at that time there were at least seven Jews with these initials. Lazarus Levy, Lewis Levi, Lewis Levy, Lyon Levy, Lewis Henry Levi, Lewis Lyons and Lipman Levy, nearly all of them convicts
