AbstractGoodman arrived in Sydney aboard the "Eden" in 1842. He spent parts of his life in Hobart, South Australia and Melbourne as well. An English Jew, he had studied in Paris under Louis Jacques Daguerre, pioneer of photography, and Poole went on to become the first professional photographer in Australia.
