AbstractGives information about three Yiddish writers. Pinkhus Goldhar, originally of Lodz, who arrived in 1928 in Melbourne and wrote short stories and novels about the immigration experience. Hertz Bergner of Warsaw came to Melbourne shortly before the outbreak of WWII; Bergner was also a well-regarded novelist writing on similar themes. Ehoshua Rappoport came to Australia with the refugees from Shanghai, and had already had essays and criticism published in Poland before the war. He became highly successful.
