Authority Biography/Administrative HistoryEva Helfgott is Polish, speaks several languages and has been in the teaching of English and voluntary social work for many years. In 1981 she was one of the co-founders of the Shalom Organisation, a group set up to help Russian Jewish immigrants integrate into Australia. She taught English until the end of 1984. In 1983 the organisation became affiliated with the Australian Jewish Welfare Society.
