BiographyMichael Randolph Freelander was born in Sydney to Australian born parents of many generations. He studied medicine at Sydney university with post graduate qualifications in paediatrics. He works at Camden and Campbelltown Hospitals in outer South Western Sydney. He has won the seat of Macarthur for the ALP at the last three elections with increased majorities. He has been quoted to refer to himself as ‘not a particularly religious Jew but I still describe myself as Jewish’. He supports Israel in the parliament although he has never visited. Dr. Freelander and his wife Sharon have 5 children.
