Vogel was one of the most colourful 'personalities in the political history of that country. Here is a subject that should delight the heart of any student. However, we all know that biography is, perhaps, particularly in this part of the world, the least remunerative section in literature. But when the story of the Jews in the Pacific is written, as some day it assuredly will be, the name of Vogel will occupy a prominent place
