BiographyDr Amanda Cohn is the proud grand-daughter of Jewish German refugees. She was elected to the NSW Legislative Council representing the Greens in 2023. Before entering Parliament, she was a GP and frontline emergency services volunteer in Albury-Wodonga, where she still lives with her partner and several rescue pets. She was the first Green and youngest woman ever elected to Albury City Council in 2016, after learning that her patients needed social and political change more than they needed a good GP. Her grandparents’ experiences of the Holocaust imparted the dangers of an "us versus them" mentality, and the importance of standing up for all persecuted people.
