BiographyMark Alfred Dreyfus was born in Perth, the son of a Jewish refugee from Nazi Germany. He completed a law degree at Melbourne University and worked as a barrister for 20 years before entering parliament as a member of the right faction of the ALP. He was appointed a Queens Council (now KC) in 1999. Mr. Dreyfus served as Australian Attorney General in 2013 before the defeat of the Labor government but was returned to that office on the election of the Albanese government in 2022. Mark Dreyfus lives in Melbourne.
