BiographyPhilip Dalidakis was born in Melbourne to a Greek father and a Jewish mother (Noemi Strauss) who herself was born in Shanghai to Jewish refugees from Germany. Mr. Dalidakis has been an outspoken advocate for Jewish victims of sexual assault and is well known in the community for his support of continuing the historic ties between the Jewish families who escaped Europe with Shanghai, the city of their refuge. A successful businessman, he entered the Victorian parliament during the early years of the Andrews government becoming Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade. In 2019, he resigned to take up a senior position with Australia Post.
