BiographyMorton Barnett Cohen was born in Sydney, the son of a Jewish mother, Amelia Charlotte Cohen (nee Solomon). His paternal grandparents were also Jewish but he appears to have followed the Anglican faith. He graduated as a schoolteacher and later worked as an accountant. He also played first class cricket for NSW. He served as the Liberal member for the marginal seat of Bligh in the inner eastern suburbs of Sydney for a single term. Morton Cohen died in Sydney at the age of 54.
